Obituary for Florence O. Coughen (Rose)

Florence O. Rose Coughen, passed away at Nentwick Care Center on Wednesday, July 2, 2014. She was 89.

Born in Hammondsville, May 8, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Hazel Allmon Rose. A resident of this area all her life, she was a homemaker and mother. Flo was also a graduate of the Irondale High School and a member of the Grant Hill United Presbyterian Church.

Flo is survived by her two children, her daughter Bonnie Blystone, and her husband Gary of Lisbon, and her son, Kevin Coughen of Highlandtown. There are also three grandchildren, Jim Thrasher of Toronto, Shannon Wheatley and her husband John, of West Point, and Heaven Nichole Coughen. There are six great-grandchildren surviving as well, Alexis, Serena, Hayleigh, Anika, Makenna and Landon.

There is a sister of N. Canton, Mary Wilkin, and a brother of Hammondsville, Kenneth Rose and his wife Patty. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Doris Cusick and Lula Carson.

Friends may visit Saturday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Pastor Phil Yocum, of the Calvary Full Gospel Assembly in Steubenville will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Chestnut Grove Cemetery.
