Obituary for Ralph Morris Swartz

Ralph M. Swartz, 41, of Bell School Road died Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at his residence following a sudden illness.

Born July 12, 1972 at Youngstown, Ohio, he was a son of the late Attorney Charles I. Swartz and Dr. Patti Capel Swartz of Calcutta, Ohio.

Ralph had lived in this area for the past 15 years working for the C.A. Joseph Company for the last four years. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Temple El Emeth. A graduate of Girard High School Class of 1988, he was an Eagle Scout. He coached Little League Baseball, Beaver Local Middle School wrestling, was an assistant coach for Team Ice Grappling, and volunteered for the Special Olympics.

Besides his mother, survivors include two daughters, Marissa R. Swartz of New Springfield, Ohio, Kristy Toney of Champion, Ohio; four sons, Steven A.L. Swartz of Calcutta, Paul N. Swartz of Calcutta, Dana M. Swartz of Calcutta, and Timothy Toney of Girard, Ohio; He also leaves behind one granddaughter, Mikayla Swartz of Calcutta, and one brother, George Swartz and his wife, Jennifer of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Edith Lucille Swartz on December 28, 2013.

Ralph's family will hold a memorial service on July 19, 2014 at Beaver Creek State Park in the Pavilion under the barn. Friends can visit beginning at Noon. The service will begin at 2:00 p.m.. Friends are encouraged to share their stories about Ralph as part of the service.

The Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool is in charge of all local arrangements.
