Obituary for Yvonne A. Jackson (Bentz)

EAST LIVERPOOL – Yvonne A. Bentz Jackson, longtime resident of Shadyside Avenue, passed away at Calcutta Health Care Center at 9:00 p.m. Friday, July 11, 2014 at the age of 87.

She was born March 5, 1927 in Salineville, a daughter of the late Henry and Grace Bentz.

On November 7, 1947, she married Kenneth F. Jackson, and together they raised their two sons here and enjoyed supporting their family and spending time with them until his passing on December 19, 2013.

Yvonne was a member of the Full Gospel Assembly of Wellsville and as a homemaker she loved playing the organ, piano and marimba.

Her sons survive: Daryl L. Jackson and his wife, Amy, of East Liverpool, and Kenny W. Jackson and his wife, Jeanie, also of East Liverpool. There are four beloved grandchildren: Jayson Jackson and his wife, Allison, of East Liverpool; John Jackson and his wife, Melissa, of Crew, VA; Kenny W. Jackson, Jr. and his wife, Dawn, of Monterey, CA; and Cody S. Jackson of East Liverpool. Yvonne also leaves behind 5great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Loretta Grundy, her roommate at Calcutta Health Care Center.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by four siblings: Vera Bentz, Verna Williams, Geraldine Bentz and Forrest Bentz.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, where the family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Greg Pennington of the Lisbon Assembly of God officiating.

Yvonne will be laid to rest beside her husband at Woodland Cemetery in Salineville.
