Obituary for Evelyn L. Quinn (Barker)

Evelyn L. Quinn, of East Liverpool, passed away suddenly Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the East Liverpool City Hospital Emergency Room. She was 88.

Born in Smithfield, West Virginia, July 23, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Leverna Swiger Barker and Elmer Barker. She moved to this area in 1952 and was a homemaker. She attended the Boyce United Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening.

Her husband, Woodrow W. “Woody” Quinn, preceded her in death September 13, 2010. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Garnet Edwards, Mary Ash and Kathleen Marshall, and five brothers, Bernard Ray, Albert, Norman, James and Thomas Barker.

Two daughters survive, Donna Shreve, and her husband Arthur, of East Liverpool, and Geneva Adkins of Sweetwater, Texas. There are 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by a sister, Wonetta Rose of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and two brothers, Ralph Barker and Robert Barker, both of Canton, Ohio.

Friends may visit Sunday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Rev. Norman Eckert will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
