Obituary for William Allen Lucas III

William Allen “Bill” Lucas, Sr., of State Route 170, Negley, passed away suddenly Thursday, August 7, 2014 at his home. He was 62.

Born in East Liverpool, September 20, 1951, he was a son of Charles “Luke” Lucas of East Liverpool and the late Mae Marie Zeitler Lucas. A lifetime resident of the area, he graduated from Beaver Local High School, was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had coached for the Glenmoor Rams. He enjoyed being at home, relaxing with his family next to the pool or playing cornhole. He loved the Oakland Raiders and cheering against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

For the past 12 years he has worked for the Homer Laughlin China Company. Previously, he worked at C and C Marine and Filmore Freight Lines.

In addition to his father, he leaves his wife, Tammy Tucker Lucas, whom he married March 20, 2004.

He is also survived by a son William A. “Billy” Lucas, Jr. of Damascus, Ohio, and two daughters, Ashlee Ash of Negley and Rachel Ash Berresford of Negley. There are four grandchildren: Madison, Kaden, Jaylie and McKinna.

In addition, he leaves behind three sisters, Jo Ann Williams, and her husband Tom, of Wellsville, Joyce Lucas of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Becky Lucas of East Liverpool, as well as three brothers, Charles “Chuck” Lucas, III of Negley, Fred Lucas of East Liverpool, and Jeff Lucas, and his fiancée Pam Wilson, of Wellsville.

Friends may visit Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. King Reed will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
