Obituary for Dennis Lee Wells

Dennis Lee “Denny” Wells passed into eternal rest, with his loving family at his side, at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver, PA. Denny, who lived on Beechwood Street in East Liverpool, was 71.

He was born in East Liverpool on April 11, 1943, a son of the late Ralph G. and Mabel Lee Riggs Wells. Raised in Hookstown, he was a 1963 graduate of South Side High School. On June 24, 1967, he married his wife, Louise Plumley Wells, and moved to East Liverpool.

For over 30 years, Denny was associated with Nova Chemicals in Monaca, PA, as a store room expeditor, retiring in 1998. He had also worked for the Pennsylvania State Highway Department at one time.

Denny loved playing his guitar and banjo, especially with fellow members of the Appalachian Folk Music Club, and would often share his faith through his music.

In addition to his wife, Louise, Denny is survived by his daughter, Amanda Kidder and her husband, David, of East Liverpool, as well as his special grandchildren, Erilyn and Jazen Kidder, who brought him immeasurable joy.

A sister, Sara Sue Day her husband, Randy, of Aliquippa, PA, also survive, as well as a brother, Jerry Wells and his wife, Linda, of Wellsville. There are numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family at Beechwood Free Methodist Church on Rubicon Street on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Norm Eckert of the church officiating.

Denny will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park. Following the burial, the family and friends will return to Beechwood Fellowship Hall for a meal and continued remembrances.

The Dawson Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
