Obituary for Jo Ann McGuire (Thomas)

Jo Ann “Joan” McGuire, of Wellsville, formerly of Y&O Road, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at the Acuity Specialty Hospital of Ohio Valley in Steubenville. She was 70.

Born January 3, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Agnes Thomas. A resident of this area all her life, she was a homemaker, loved to bake and attended The Living Well Church. A friend to everyone she met, she would always help others in need.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy R. McGuire, on February 24, 2001. The couple married September 14, 1966.

Survivors include two sons, David R. McGuire of Wellsville, and Mike McGuire of Lisbon, as well as two daughters, Tammy LaRose, and her husband Steve, of Lorain, Ohio, and Pamela Kay Flowers, and her husband Dwayne, of Amherst, Ohio.

There are 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

One brother survives, Richard Thomas of Colorado.

Pastor Dirk Hall will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present to receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at The Living Well Church, 1620 Maple Ave., Wellsville, Ohio.
