Obituary for Eleanor Joy Brubaker (Buchheit)

Eleanor Joy Brubaker, 80, of Pleasant Heights, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 2:40 p.m. at her son’s residence in West Point, Ohio following a lengthy illness.

Born August 4, 1934 at East Liverpool, she was the daughter of the late Robert Francis and Wynona Unit “Josephine” Chase Buchheit. A lifetime area resident, she was retired from the O.S. Hill Company after 25 years of service. Prior to that she was a travel reservationist for United Airlines.

A member of the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, she was also graduated from the East Liverpool High School in 1952.

She is survived by one son, Michael Robert Brubaker and his wife, Bonnie of West Point. She also leaves behind two granddaughters, Lisa Jorgenson and her husband, Joe of Columbus, Ohio, and Jessica Brubaker of West Bloomfield, Michigan.

In addition, there are two great grandchildren, Ella & Michael Jorgenson of Columbus; and one brother, Robert Francis Buchheit and his wife, Marian of Webster, New York.

There is one niece, Teresa Ollila; and three nephews, John, Paul, and Robert Buchheit.

She was also preceded in death by one nephew, Stephen Buchheit.

Friends may visit the family on Friday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool. Fr. Peter Haladej of the church will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church.

Burial will be in Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Immediately following the service family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center.
