DORIS A. CONFER, 86

LISBON – Doris A. Confer, of Leslie Road in Lisbon, passed away at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Caprice Health Care in North Lima, OH. She now joins her husband, John W. “Jack” Confer, who preceded her in death on June 25, 2014.

A daughter of the late Elmer and Violet Mellon Martin, Doris was born in East Liverpool on July 6, 1928 and had spent her lifetime here.

She had been a devoted homemaker to her two children and took great pride in her grandchildren. For many years, Doris was a waitress at 7/14 Truck Stop and also the Cloverleaf Restaurant, and also delivered newspapers with her husband until his illness.

Surviving are a son and a daughter: Elmer Barrow of Lisbon, and Mary Parker of East Palestine. There are four grandchildren: Ciara, Kaylyn and Michael Parker, and Josh Barrow.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Carol Barrow, who died on May 21, 2012, and by a brother, Jim Martin.

Memorial services will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014, with Pastor Norm Eckert of Beechwood Free Methodist Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
