Obituary for Donna Smith Moore (Smith)

Donna Smith Moore, of East Liverpool, departed from this earth Friday, November 28, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family following a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was 67.

Born in East Liverpool, September 15, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Roberta Herron Smith. A resident of this area most of her life, she was a 1965 graduate of East Liverpool High School. She worked as an office manager for Dentistry For Children and Teens in Calcutta.

She will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 42 years, John Moore. The couple married August 26, 1972. She also leaves a beloved daughter, Johnna Moore.

There are two sisters, Karen Mercer, and her husband Joe, and Lisa Miller, and her husband David, all of East Liverpool, as well as four brothers, David Smith, and his wife Pam, of Carrollton, Ohio, Stephen Smith, and his wife Peg, Ronald Smith, and his wife Nicole, and Mark Smith, all of East Liverpool. Also to treasure her memories are 17 nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and great-nephews as well. In addition, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Janice Boso, and her husband Ray, of Calcutta.

Friends may visit Sunday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Chaplain George Romage will conduct a funeral service Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Calcutta Cemetery. Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

She is at peace now and her memories will live on in the hearts of those lucky enough to have known her.

In lieu of flowers, Donna’s wishes were that donations be sent to Valley Hospice, 380 Summit Avenue, Steubenville, Ohio 43952-2699.
