Obituary for Ruth P. Adkins (Eck)

Ruth P. Adkins, of East Liverpool, passed away Friday, January 9, 2015 at East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 99.

Born in East Liverpool, April 25, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Pete and Alice “Elsie” Hughes Eck. A homemaker, she was a lifetime resident of East Liverpool.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred Adkins. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth Adkins and Gerald W. Adkins, two grandchildren, Dennis Eckstein and Karen George, a sister, Thelma Klein, and a brother, Ralph Eck, along with a nephew she raised, Keith Klein.

Survivors include a daughter, Alice Ruth Eckstein, and her husband James, of East Liverpool, as well as a son David Adkins of Wellsville. There are seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit Monday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m. Rev. Alvin Talkington will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
