Obituary for Charlotte I. Cole (Burson)

Charlotte I. Cole, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 96.

Born in East Liverpool, September 20, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Roy C. and Maude Offord Burson. A bookkeeper for the former Kerr Lumber for 38 years, she also worked in bookkeeping at the former Olson’s Department Store. A Protestant by faith, she was a member and past president of the East Liverpool Quota Club. She was part of the original committee that founded the East Liverpool Pottery Festival and served as the organization’s secretary for many years. She was also active in the Crystal Chapter 18 Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her daughters, Marilyn Cowan of East Liverpool and Virginia Paterson of Michigan, as well as four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. There is a brother, Robert Burson, and his wife Marjorie, of East Liverpool.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Ralph, Paul, William and Roy Burson.

Rev. Gary Schreckengost conducted a private funeral service at the Dawson Funeral Home.

She was laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
