ALICE W. LANDER, 94

EAST LIVERPOOL – Alice W. Lander, of Thompson Avenue in East Liverpool, died at the Calcutta Health Care Center on Monday, January 26, 2015, at 11:15 p.m., just 45 minutes shy of her 95th birthday.

A daughter of the late George and Stella Boyden Billos, she was born on January 27, 1920 in New Kensington, PA.

A homemaker, she was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, and had been a part of the Ruth Circle and Lutheran Church Women. At one time, she was a YWCA volunteer swimming instructor.

Surviving her at home is her husband, Michael Lander, whom she married on June 27, 1947.

There are two daughters: Terry Walker and her husband, Ernest, of Shadyside, OH, and Susan Copeland of East Liverpool. Six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive.

Alice was preceded in death by five sisters and two brothers.

Arrangements are being handled by the Dawson Funeral Home.
