Obituary for Kenneth D. Beaver

EAST LIVERPOOL – Kenneth D. “Kenny” Beaver, of East Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the Salem Regional Medical Center. He was 61.

Born in East Liverpool, July 14, 1953, he was a son of Terry and Cleonis Beatty Booth. A member of the Beaver Local High School Class of 1971, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years until retiring in 2011. Following his retirement, he worked for the National Fire and Safety Council and traveled to elementary schools across Ohio and conducted fire safety programs.

He was a member of the Wellsville First Christian Church where he was active with the Praise Team and the softball team. A lifetime hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Toronto Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. In his later years, he enjoyed golfing and never gave up cheering for his Cleveland Browns.

An accomplished musician, Kenny loved singing and playing the guitar and would often play in area venues including the Riverside Roadhouse and nursing homes. This suited his personality well as he was known as the “singing mailman” and always liked to make people smile.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Carrie Anne Blissenbach, and her husband Karl, of Lisbon, and three grandchildren, Emilie and Karlie Blissenbach and Gabriel Blissenbach, whom he adored. He also leaves behind his companion, Susan K. Beaver of East Liverpool along with three step-daughters, Sarah Hoobler of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, Jenna Weekley of Madison, Ohio and Kayla Weekley of Reynoldsburg.

He is also survived by four sisters, Darlene Foeks, and her husband Kevin, of Boardman, Trisha Powell of East Liverpool, Diane Booth of East Liverpool, and Terri Lynn Booth of East Liverpool, as well as two brothers, Larry Beaver, and his wife Anne, of Michigan and Keith Beaver, and his wife Diana, of Youngstown.
