Obituary for Jessie Mae Riggs (Skinner)

Mrs. Jessie M. Riggs, 89, passed away at her home on Calcutta Smith Ferry Road on Saturday evening, April 25, 2015.

She was born at home in Empire, OH, one of five children of the late Jessie and Iva Bunner Skinner, on November 5, 1925.

A graduate of Toronto High School, Mrs. Riggs came to this area after her marriage to Elmer Riggs, when he returned from the service. She had worked at the former Sterling China as a young woman, and had been a homemaker after her son was born. A Christian by faith, she enjoyed working in her yard… and loved her cats.

Her husband, Elmer, preceded her in death in 1987.

Surviving her is a son, Terry L. Riggs, of East Liverpool.

Mrs. Riggs was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Julie Mindek, who passed away March 26, 2015.

Arrangements are being handled by the Dawson Funeral Home.
