JEAN L. HARVEY WEAVER, 85


SHREWSBURY, MA – Jean Weaver, 85, of Shrewsbury, MA passed away peacefully at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Westborough, MA on Saturday April 25th, 2015, having succumbed to pancreatic cancer.

Jean was born on March 13, 1930 in Chelsea, MA to her late parents John Harvey and Susanna (Parsons) Harvey, the youngest and last surviving member of eight children. Jean graduated from Chelsea High School in 1948 and worked at an insurance firm and as a dental assistant prior to her marriage to Dale W. Weaver in 1952.

Jean previously lived in Chester, WV and Negley, OH before moving to Shrewsbury following the passing of her husband in November 1999. She was predeceased in August 2014 by her son, Bruce Weaver, and is survived by daughter-in-law, Kim Weaver, of Florida. She is also survived by son, Dale H. and his wife Marsha Weaver, Westborough, and two grandchildren: Ashley and her husband Matthew Rich, Shrewsbury, and Sara Weaver, Portland, OR.

Jean was a member of the Mount Zion Methodist Church of Rogers, OH and attended church services at New Hope Chapel in Westborough. She was a member of the Busy Hands Knitting Group at the Shrewsbury Senior Center and enjoyed taking senior bus tours. Jean was a true animal lover, loved the outdoors, camping/RVing, and especially the ocean.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 1st at Riverview Cemetery, 2026 St. Clair Ave., East Liverpool, OH, officiated by Pastor Jim Rhodes. Friends are invited to share remembrances immediately following the service at Mount Zion Methodist Church, 49255 Pancake-Clarkson Rd, Rogers, OH 44455. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. The Dawson Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Jean was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who demonstrated Christ’s love through an honorable, charitable life, and is greatly missed.
