Obituary for Karen Diane Gilkinson Siders (Gilkinson)

EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO - Karen Diane Gilkinson-Siders, 72, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Vista Center in Lisbon.

Born in East Liverpool, April 23, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Charles Golf and Edith Irene Murray Gilkinson. Raised in this area, she was a 1961 graduate of Salem Bible High School and furthered her education at Frances Ashbury College in Illinois. She was an ordained and licensed minister and traveled extensively as a missionary, mostly in New Mexico. She held membership at the Wesleyan Holiness Church in Parkersburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary W. Siders, on December 11, 2013. The couple married December 16, 1987. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Kendall, Keith and Doyle Gilkinson.

She is survived by two brothers, Charles Glenn Gilkinson and David Gilkinson, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit Monday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Rev. Paul W. Treese will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
