Obituary for Stephen D. Keuper Sr.

Stephen D. “Steve” Keuper passed away at the age of 78 at his home on Old Lincoln Highway, in the presence of his family, at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015. He had been in failing health for several years.

A son of the late Charles J. and Mary Catherine Bulger Keuper, he was born in East Liverpool on November 8, 1936 and remained here the rest of his life.

Steve was an auto worker for General Motors, retiring in 2002 after nearly 34 years of service. He had been a member of Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church.

His wife, Caroline LaRue Faith Keuper, preceded him in death on August 4, 2010. They were married on June 15, 1956, and together they raised two sons, who survive: Stephen D. Keuper, Jr., and his wife, Sandy, of Columbus, and Timothy A. Keuper and his wife, Jana, of East Liverpool.

There are six grandchildren: Julie Koloini, Christopher Keuper, Kevin Keuper, Pamela Keuper Schul, Janele Spann and Anthony Williams.

Steve is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren: Connor and Lex; Ariel, Hannah, Caroline and Lily; Danyon, Dylise and Faith; Brendon, Adrionna, Brilee and Addilee; and Jacob and Sam.

A brother, David Michael “Mike” Keuper of Fort Worth, TX survives, as well as a sister, Francie Westfall of Bloomingdale, OH. Steve was preceded by four brothers: Bernard Keuper, Phillip Keuper, Charles Keuper and Lawrence Keuper.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Pastor Norm Eckert officiating.

Steve will be laid to rest beside his wife at Columbiana County Memorial Park, followed by a time of continued fellowship at the Dawson Family Center.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Aggarwal, Valley Hospice of Rayland, Community Home Health, and private duty caregivers – especially Mary Tanner. Their tender and compassionate care of Steve will not be forgotten.
