Obituary for Marty Johnson (Brandon)

Mrs. Marty Brandon Johnson, of Meadow Road, passed away suddenly Monday, July 6, 2015 at the East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 83.

Born in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, September 9, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William David and Tulia Yager Brandon. She lived most of her life in this area where she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1949. She was a member of the Grace Presbyterian Church.

Her husband, G. Robert Johnson, survives at home. The couple married January 24, 1953 and together they raised three children: a daughter, Dr. Marty Diane Henley and her husband, Rudy, of Charleston, West Virginia, and two sons, David Johnson and his wife, Dawn, of Amherst, Ohio, and Atty. R. Brandon Johnson and his wife, Melanie, of Lewisburg, West Virginia.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Justin Johnson and his wife, Trina, Erin Brown and her husband, Joe,Kevin Johnson, Grant Henley, Julia Henley, Sarah Henley, Grace Johnson, Mary Johnson, Kyle Gilbert, Bobby Gilbert, and Parker Gilbert, as well as 6 great-grandchildren: Ella, Nolan, Mason, Chloe, Grace and Brayden.

Marty was a loving wife, wonderful mother and doting grandma. Cooking was her passion, and putting out a spread for family brought her great joy. She will be missed beyond words; however, her legacy of wisdom, strength and love, which she imparted to her family, will endure forever.

The family is very thankful for the doctors, nurses and staff at East Liverpool City Hospital for their attentive and compassionate care.

Funeral services were conducted at the Dawson Funeral Home. Burial is at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
