Obituary for Lynn A Haldiman (Towery)

Lynn A Haldiman (Towery)
Lynn A. Towery Haldiman, 53, passed away at the Hospice House in Boardman at 9:03 a.m. Tuesday morning, July 28, 2015 after valiantly fighting cancer for the past eight years. Throughout her illness, Lynn kept the faith, and maintained her sweet smile and cheerful disposition – and remained appreciative and grateful for her family, her friends, and the life she had been given.

She was born on February 22, 1962 in Greensburg, PA, a cherished daughter of Ellis E. and Lorraine Dayton Towery, with whom she had resided in recent months. A 1980 graduate of Beaver Local High School, she had stayed close to her classmates, many of whom have rallied around her with loving support, especially during the tough times.

Lynn had been a medical assistant for many years, last working for Dr. Kraus in Beaver. But those who knew her best would say that Lynn’s greatest joy was being a mom, “Nana” and “Gammy.”

In addition to her parents, she leaves behind her three children: Jenny Santana and her husband, Salvador, of Darlington, PA; and Michael Haldiman and Matthew Haldiman, both of East Palestine. Five grandchildren also survive: Mason and Marley Haldiman, and Ellyana, Eva and Karina Santana, along with a step-granddaughter, Teresa Santana. Lynn also leaves behind her longtime companion, Jim Bollinger, of East Palestine.

There are two sisters, Lisa Mitchell and her husband, Andrew, of Alliance, and Kimberly Tolin of Negley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. An infant brother, Jonny Towery, preceded her in death on May 26, 1968.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday, where the family will be present from 3 to 8 p.m.

Lynn’s good friend, Bob Tatgenhorst, will officiate at services to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday.

Lynn will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
