Obituary for Donald G Heacock

Loving and dedicated husband, dad, and grandad Donald G. “Don” Heacock, of Perry Avenue, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday afternoon, September 16, 2015.

A son of Patricia L. Cunningham Heacock of Guildford Lake and the late Robert H. Heacock, he was born on July 23, 1953 in East Liverpool.

A 1971 graduate of East Liverpool High School, he was known as a hard worker, and had been in restaurant management for most of his life, particularly as the owner and operator of Pizza Domain in downtown East Liverpool. Most recently he was the manager of the Sonic Drive-in in Wexford, PA.

Don and his wife, the former Patricia Strobel, were married on September 28, 1974. The light of their lives were their three daughters, whom they raised in the First United Methodist Church downtown East Liverpool. As the girls grew older, with families of their own, their joy was compounded… especially when they were cheering for the Steelers together. When Don wasn’t working, he was spending time with them.

His wife, Pat, survives him at home. In addition to his mother, his “girls” survive as well: Nicole Wolf and her husband, Ron, of East Liverpool; April Roush and her husband, Jacob, of St. Cloud, FL; and Heather Carson and her husband, Robert of Apopka, FL.

There are four grandchildren: Trenton Wolf, Jordan Wolf, Aidan Roush and Preston Roush. Don was also preceded in death in 2010 by a granddaughter, Kyla Roush.

Also surviving are a sister, Roberta Lindburg and her husband, Brian, of Salem, and a brother, Ronald Heacock and his wife, Vicki, of Chester, and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as his mother-in-law, Mary Skelton and her husband, Harry of East Liverpool. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Jack Strobel, and his wife, Robetta “Kitty”.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Monday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Pastor Larry Hukill of the church will conduct services to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, followed by a continued time of fellowship at the First United Methodist Church.
