Obituary for Martha E Tychonievich (Switzer)

SALEM, OH – Martha E. Switzer Tychonievich of Salem, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at the Essex of Salem following a lengthy illness. She was 89.

Born in Chester, July 4, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Eleanor Seitz Switzer. She was raised in Chester and was a member of the Chester High School Class of 1944. She moved to Salem in 1951 where she was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter J. Tychonievich. The couple married August 10, 1949. She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Tychonievich, four sisters: Mary Louise Switzer, Rosalia Switzer, Frances Applegate and Agnes L. Switzer; as well as two brothers: Dr. George Switzer and Joseph Switzer and a nephew Frank Switzer.

Her daughter survives, Karen Souch and her husband, Peter, of Watertown, New York. There are five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Fr. Robert Edwards of St. Paul Church will conduct Catholic Funeral Rites at 11 a.m. Monday, September 28th at Locust Hill Cemetery at the gravesite.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Dawson Funeral Home.
