Mary Lou Taylor Gadd, 89

EAST LIVERPOOL – Mary Lou Taylor Gadd, of East Liverpool, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Shepherd of the Valley in Boardman. She was 89.

Born in East Liverpool, June 5, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Clarence T. and Pearl McGraw Taylor. Mary Lou was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1944. A member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, she was the organist for over 60 years. She loved music and learned to play piano at an early age. Her abilities were inherited from her father’s side of the family; Clarence was an accomplished violinist and her uncles would often accompany them with guitars and everyone would sing along. Later, she would share her gift of music at area nursing homes for more than 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale H. Gadd, on February 28, 2013. During World War II, they became engaged before Dale left for the Army and married May 2, 1946 upon his return.

Surviving are two daughters: Brenda Blosser and her husband, Russell of Wellsville, Ohio and Beverly Gadd Miller and her husband, Gary, of Columbus, Ohio, as well as a brother-in-law, Gerald Gadd of Midland and a nephew Darrel Locke of East Liverpool.

Friends may visit Friday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
