Obituary for Charles "Luke" Harrison Lucas Jr.

EAST LIVERPOOL - Charles Harrison “Luke” Lucas, Jr., of East Liverpool, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at the Orchards of East Liverpool following a lengthy illness. He was 85.

Born in East Liverpool, April 4, 1930, he was a son of the late Charles H. Lucas, Sr. and Felicia DeZenzo Lucas. A truck driver for 52 years, he was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A gunsmith, he also owned Luke’s Gun Shop for 25 years.

He enjoyed hunting and traveling and loved his family and friends and especially adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Klemm Lucas, at home. He is also survived by three daughters: Jo Ann Williams, and her husband Tom, of Wellsville, Joyce Lucas of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Becky Lucas of East Liverpool, as well as three sons: Charles “Chuck” Lucas, III of Negley, Fred Lucas of East Liverpool, and Jeff Lucas, and his wife Pam Wilson, of Wellsville. There are 25 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Allen “Bill” Lucas, Sr., a grandson, a great-granddaughter and five sisters.

Friends may visit Thursday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Bishop Steve Wright of the church will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
