Obituary for David R Myers

David R. Myers, 70

EAST LIVERPOOL – David R. Myers, of East Liverpool, passed away Thursday morning, January 28, 2016 at the East Liverpool City Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 70.

Born in East Liverpool, a son of Lois R. Carroll Myers of Calcutta and the late Lee J. “Pudge” Myers. He lived all his life in this area and was a union electrician and a member of the IBEW Local 246.

He was a member of the Beaver Local High School Class of 1963 where he was a standout member of the football and baseball teams. In 2001, he was elected to membership in the Beaver Local High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was also proud to have served as a member of the Beaver Local Schools Board of Education. He was a member of Longs Run Presbyterian Church

In addition to his mother, his wife survives, Cheryl Myers, at home. The couple married June 11, 1966. He also leaves a son, David C. Myers and his wife, Margaret, of Calcutta, as well as three grandchildren: Hannah, Jacob and Benjamin Myers and one brother, Daniel L. Myers and his wife, Judy, of Anniston, Alabama.

Rev. Dr. Stephen Cramer of the church will conduct a funeral service Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit Sunday afternoon from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
