Obituary for Charles Albert Edgar

CHARLES ALBERT EDGAR, 95

EAST LIVERPOOL – Charles Albert “Al” Edgar, longtime resident of Allison Street in East Liverpool, passed away at the age of 95 on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.

Born here on April 15, 1920, he was a son of the late Rev. Charles H. and Beatrice Cunningham Edgar.

During World War II, Al served with the U.S. Army as a driver in the 38th Cavalry Recon Troop, which saw action in New Guinea and the Philippines.

He married the former Nora B. Faulkner on August 3, 1948; they would have celebrated 68 years of marriage this year. She survives him at home.

A potter by trade, he worked for over 43 years at the Hall China Company until his retirement in 1985.

In addition to his wife, Al is survived by a daughter, Kay Burns and her husband, Ed, of Akron, as well as a son, Don Edgar and his wife, Carey Dailey, of Columbus.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 1.

Private funeral services will take place at the funeral home, where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will provide full military honors. Al will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
