Obituary for Patty Hull (Dick)

EAST LIVERPOOL – Patty Dick Hull, of East Liverpool, passed away Saturday morning, July 23, 2016 at her home. She was 81.

Born in Glasgow, Pennsylvania, September 2, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Clifford Dick and Martha “Murph” Murphy Schmidt. Patty was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1952 and worked as a finisher at Homer Laughlin China Company for 35 years.

A member of the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, she also served on the Liverpool Township Board of Zoning Appeals for 20 years. She was also a member of the Lady Elks of Lodge 258 where she was the president at one time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Hull. The couple married January 22, 1953. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, George Schmidt, and a brother Zane Dick.

She will be remembered by her two daughters, Debra Loy and her husband, James, of East Liverpool, and Kimberly Duffy and her husband, James, of Overland Park, Kansas, along with a brother, C. George Schmidt of Marysville, Washington and a half-sister Jeanette Morris of Florida.

There are five grandchildren: Steven Hale and his wife, Melanie, James Duffy and his wife, Michelle, Michael Duffy, Jodi Adkins and her companion, Nathan, and Brent Loy and his wife, Heather; and 11 great-grandchildren: Kenley Hale, Evie Hale, Brantley Duffy, Ryder Duffy, Landon Duffy, Cooper Duffy, Mason Duffy, Abigal Loy, Wyatt Loy, Nathan Adkins and Bailey Adkins.

Friends may visit Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Dr. Pastor Bill Wagner will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
