Obituary for Dorothy Helen Luchansky (Morrow)

Dorothy Helen Luchansky, of Shippingport, passed away Friday morning after a brief illness, July 29, 2016 at Heritage Valley Beaver. She was 92.

Born in Rochester, Pennsylvania on March 28, 1924, she was a daughter of the late William and Isabel Allison Morrow. Dorothy was a Methodist by faith and was a 1942 graduate of Midland High School.

During World War II, Dorothy had worked at the Curtis-Wright plant in Vanport, making propellers. She was also associated for over 35 years with the Westinghouse Company in Beaver, retiring in 1985.

Dorothy was loved by all those who knew her, and is survived by her loving family and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Luchansky, who died on May 27, 1985. They had been married June 2, 1963. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her four brothers, Jack “Pete” Morrow, Robert Morrow, Frank Morrow and William “Bill” Morrow, along with her two sisters, Thelma Miocic and Margaret Ream.

Dorothy’s family wishes to acknowledge and thank the doctors and staff at the Wound Care Center at Heritage Valley, Beaver, for their compassionate care.

The Dawson Funeral Home was in charge of private family visitation, with burial taking place at Mill Creek Hill Cemetery.
