Obituary for Loretta Young (Pridemore)

Loretta Young, 82

LAKELAND, FL – Loretta Young, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of East Liverpool and Midland, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center. She was 82.

Born in Myra, West Virginia, May 22, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Hubert J. and Guynith Elkins Pridemore. She graduated from the former Lincoln High School in Midland. She attended the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lakeland.

She was preceded in death by her husband Minos M. Young, Sr. The couple married June 16, 1953. She was also preceded in death by a son Minos M. “Max” Young, Jr., and three brothers, Dennis, Daniel and Kenneth Pridemore.

Survivors include a son, Clifford Young and his wife, Carmela, of Lakeland, three grandchildren, Tara Jobe, and her husband, Timothy, of East Liverpool, Nathan Young and Drew Young of Lakeland as well as two great-grandchildren Dakota and Jadon.

In addition, Loretta is survived by three sisters, Darelene McCallister and her husband, Bill, of Florida, Sue Hager and her husband, Ed, of East Liverpool, and Nellie Tucker of Columbiana, along with a brother, Larry Pridemore and his wife, Marylou, of Dallas, Texas.

Friends may visit Thursday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Dr. Joel L. Adkins will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
