Obituary for Elizabeth Tice (Michael)

ELIZABETH “LIZ” TICE, 53

EAST LIVERPOOL – Beloved wife, mom, sister, grandmother and friend Elizabeth “Liz” Tice slipped into her eternal home at 4:31 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at the age of 53. Liz, as she was known best, resided on Sanford Street in East Liverpool and died surrounded by her loving family.

A daughter of the late Shirley Higgins Zewe and Richard E. “Hoss” Michael, she was born on March 23, 1963 in Fairmont, WV. She was a 1981 graduate of Southern Local High School and had spent much of her adult life in California, returning to East Liverpool in 2006.

Liz was a warm and familiar face to countless students in the East Liverpool School District, where she had been a bus driver for many years. A woman of great faith, she belonged to the Avondale Baptist Church. More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandkids and camping with her family.

Her husband, Tracy Tice, survives her at home. They were married on June 6, 1991.

Liz also leaves behind her three sons: Michael Kessler of Wellsville, Brandon Kessler of East Liverpool, and Conor Tice, also of Wellsville. There are two grandchildren, Colin and Chloe Kessler.

Also surviving are a sister and three brothers: LaWana Michael of Wellsville; Allen Michael and his companion, Patricia Kall, of Swansboro, NC; Eric Miller of Williamsport, PA; and Douglas Michael and his wife, Bobbi, of Erie, PA, as well as her mother-in-law, Rosetta Tice of Newell. Liz cherished her friend who was “like a sister”, Christine Hayes and her husband, Steve, of Suisun City, CA. She is also survived by her cousin Trudy Tice whom she grew up with.

In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by another brother, Richard Michael, and by her step-father, Norman L. Zewe.

Liz’s family will receive friends at the Dawson Funeral Home on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. Her pastor, Terry Weyand of the church, will officiate at services to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home. After the service family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
