Obituary for Carolyn Ann Clunk (Cox)

Carolyn Ann (Cox) Clunk, 74

Carolyn Ann (Cox) Clunk, of Columbiana, formerly of Calcutta, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman. She was 74.

Born in Steubenville, April 16, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Clyde A. and Esther E. Peach Cox. A resident of this area all her life, she was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1960. Carolyn worked at the former Smith & Phillips Company in East Liverpool and later worked as a bookkeeper for the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation.

She enjoyed jewelry design and quilting and along with her sister she operated Tillie’s Treasures. Above everything in life she loved her family.

Carolyn was a beloved wife and best friend of her one and only love of her husband of 53 years, James D. Clunk, at home. The couple married June 22, 1963 She was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kim Brazelton of Canfield and a son, Christopher Clunk and his wife, Melissa, of Annapolis, Maryland. She will also be fondly remembered by four granddaughters: Alexis Brazelton, Kaitlyn Brazelton, Madison Clunk and Emily Clunk.

In addition, she leaves behind a sister Linda Ferello of Calcutta and Charles Cox and his wife, Carolyn Sue, of Gallipolis, Ohio.

Friends may visit Thursday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
