Obituary for William F Burchett

WILLIAM F. BURCHETT, 68

CALCUTTA – William F. Burchett, of Cricket Lane in Calcutta, passed away in the presence of his loving family at the home of his daughter at 5:22 a.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2016. He was 68.

Born on June 5, 1948 in East Liverpool, he was a son of the late James J. and Betty Burdick Burchett.

A graduate of Beaver Local High School and Ohio Valley Business College, he was a Vietnam War veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Burchett had worked at the former Crucible Steel at one time, and later retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Bill also had been active in Masonic organizations prior to moving to Florida, as well as the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Burchett.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Jo Barnhart and her husband, Scott, of Calcutta, and Billie “BJ” Burchett of East Liverpool, as well as a son, Tim Burchett of Narragansett, Rhode Island. There are thirteen grandchildren and six great-granddaughters.

He also leaves behind a sister, Nancy Gimbus, of Calcutta, and four brothers, James Burchett and his wife, Deloris, of Calcutta; Randy Burchett and his wife, Lisa, also of Calcutta; Jeffrey Burchett and his wife, Karen, of Alliance, OH; and John Burchett and his wife, Amy, of Melissa, TX. Preceding him in death was a brother, Jon Kevin Burchett.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. The Dawson Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
