Obituary for Charlene A Olmstead (Sullivan)

CHARLENE A. OLMSTEAD, 77

EAST LIVERPOOL –Charlene A. Olmstead formerly of Baxter Street passed away Friday afternoon, November 4, 2016 at Heritage Valley Hospital in Beaver. She was 77.

Born in Sandusky, Ohio, January 1, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Eva Mae Joiner Sullivan. She had lived in this area since 1963 and was a loving homemaker, taking great pride in raising her family. Charlene was a 1957 graduate of Sandusky High School and had worked for Walmart and the Riverview Greenhouse at one time.

Her husband, Donald “Wayne” Olmstead, preceded her on September 25, 2008. The couple married November 21, 1963.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia “Patty” Crook, and her husband, Randy, of Wellsville, and her son, Donald W. Olmstead, Jr., and his wife, Julie, of Edgewood, MD.

Charlene was a loving grandmother to Amanda Evans, Robert Hubbard, Tiffany Morris, Latisha Olmstead and Jade Olmstead; and great-grandmother to Selestte, Isaac, Jeremiah, Isiah and Madileana. She is also survived by sisters Sheryl Sullivan of East Liverpool, Eva Stoffel, and her husband Dan, of Leetonia, sister-in-law Cheryl Buchanan, and her husband Jim, of Columbus, as well as a brother, Will Sullivan, and his wife Cheryl, of Jacksonville, FL.

In addition to her husband and parents, Charlene was preceded by three sisters, Mildred Wilson, Lois Lechner and Lynn Lussenhop, and three brothers, John L. Sullivan, Jr., Frank Sullivan and Charles Sullivan.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home Monday where the family will be present from 5 to 8 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday with burial to follow at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
