Obituary for Maxine Lyle (Cline)

Maxine Cline Lyle, who had made her home on the Calcutta Smiths Ferry Road for many years, passed away at the Stone Pear Pavilion in Chester, WV at 7:30 a.m. Monday, December 26, 2016. She was 89.

Maxine was born on July 3, 1927 in East Liverpool, a daughter of the late Gaylord and Letty McConner Cline. A 1945 graduate of East Liverpool High School, she later became involved in the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association.

On July 26, 1948, she married Donald D. Lyle, who preceded her in death on September 9, 1990.

She had been a sales associate at the former Olson’s Department Store at one time, and was a loving and devoted homemaker, wife and mother. A member of LaCroft Nazarene Church, Maxine enjoyed flower gardening.

She is survived by a daughter, Debbie White and her husband, Tom, of East Liverpool, as well as a son, Donald L. Lyle and his wife, Barbara, of Grove City, PA. There are five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Also surviving is a sister, Gerri Ziegler of Florida. A brother, Richard Cline, preceded her in death.

Maxine’s grandson, Rev. Michael Lyle, will conduct a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home.

Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
