Obituary for Chris E Aikens

Chris E. Aikens, 60

EAST LIVERPOOL – Chris E. Aikens, of East Liverpool, passed away Sunday morning, April 2, 2017, at the East Liverpool City Hospital Emergency Room. He was 60.

Born in East Liverpool, April 28, 1956, he was a son of Lillie Thomas Aikens of East Liverpool and the late Norman J. Aikens.

A member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1974, he was a member of the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene where he was a trustee and youth leader. He worked in maintenance at several area companies and often would supervise the department. While at Sterling China, he served as union president.

He is survived by his wife, Robin G. Aikens, at home. The couple married April 18, 1975. He is also survived by his daughter Kandice Aikens of Boardman.

There are two sisters, Barbara Wright and her husband Jamie, and Judy Powell and her husband Dan, both of East Liverpool, as well as four brothers: John Aikens and his wife Diane, James Aikens and his wife Tana, all of East Liverpool; Dennis Aikens of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Robert Aikens and his wife Myrna, of Chula Vista, California.

He loved his many nieces and nephews as well as his dog and faithful companion, Bear.

Friends may visit Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Carolyn Hardy and Rev. Willard Chuck Adkins will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the LaCroft Church of the Nazarene, 507 7th Avenue LaCroft, East Liverpool, Ohio.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the church for fellowship.
