DOLORES ROSE SANTIMARINO CROUSE, 83

CHESTER – Early Tuesday morning, April 25, 2017, Dolores Rose Santimarino Crouse, of Locust Hill Road in Chester, passed away suddenly after being airlifted to Allegheny General Hospital. She was 83.

A daughter of the late Fred and Helen Antimary Santimarino, Dolores was born in Weirton on August 26, 1933. She was a 1951 graduate of Wellsville High School and had resided in the Ohio Valley all of her life.

Dolores was devoted to caring for her family, and loved to sew and cook for them. She was Catholic by faith.

She retired in 1996 from Hall China Company, where she had been a glaze maker and a waxer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death on March 30, 2013 by her husband, Ronald “Bill” Crouse, whom she married on October 1, 1974. She was also preceded by a son, Michael Allen Zirillo, who died in 1963.

She leaves behind her daughter, Darla Zirillo of Chester, and her son, Anthony “Zig” Zirillo and his companion, Patty Stumbo of East Liverpool. There are two step-daughters, Leslie Crouse Woodford and her companion Pat Broderick of Wellsville, and Cara Croyle and her husband, Rod, of Hubbard.

Additional survivors include four grandchildren: Sierra Zirillo; Kelly Zirillo and her companion, Michael McHenry; and Nicholas Zirillo and his wife, Lizzie, Dakota Stumbo, as well as two great-grandchildren: Mason and Sydney. There is a brother, Leroy Santimarino and his wife, Michelle, of East Palestine, and three sisters: Joyce White, Barb Beadnell and Jean Baldasare and her husband, Fred, all of Wellsville. Two other sisters preceded Dolores in death, Donna DaLonzo and MaryAnn McCauley.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Sunday, where the family will be present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Father Peter Haladej of Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church will officiate at a service on Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Dolores will be buried at St. Elizabeth Cemetery.
