Obituary for Alice Louise Taylor (Crowe)

A. LOUISE TAYLOR, 86

EAST LIVERPOOL – Alice Louise Taylor, born in East Liverpool on November 5, 1930, passed away at 5:42 a.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 at Salem Community Hospital. “Louise”, as she was known, was a lifetime area resident. She was 86.

A daughter of the late Charles C. and Alice Galloway Crowe, Louise was a 1949 graduate of East Liverpool High School and was a proud alumnus and member of the East Liverpool High School Alumni Association.

She had belonged to the Boyce United Methodist Church, and had worked as an election official with the Board of Elections, retiring in 2001. Louise had been president of the American Legion Auxiliary #374, and also served as president of the East Liverpool Democrat Club at one time, and was the former treasurer of the Columbiana County Democrats.

Her husband, John William “Bill” Taylor, survives her at home. They were married on May 3, 1969.

Three daughters and one son survive as well: Crystall Flint and her husband, Jeff, of New Middletown, OH; William “Buddy” Emmerling III and his wife, Cindy, of East Liverpool;
Terri Poynter and her husband, Coleman, of Lisbon; and Alicia “Lisa” Taylor and her fiancé Ronald Triner of Salineville.

Louise was blessed with ten grandchildren: David Powell (Michelle); Edward Powell, Jr. (Jackie); Christopher Powell (Danielle); Stacy Corll (Ben); Misti Mays (Ryan); Bobbi Jo Dean (Kerry); Jennifer Jo Clarke (Eric); Scott W. Cameron; Taylor Brickner (Jamie); and Justin Cameron (Jordan). There are also fifteen great-grandchildren and two on the way.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Charlotte Mae Crowe.

The family will receive friends at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

Pastor Norm Eckert of the Beechwood Free Methodist Church will officiate at a service to be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.

Louise will be laid to rest at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
