Obituary for Joseph L. "Joe" Stewart

Joseph “Joe” L. Stewart, 39

PITTSBURGH – Joseph L. “Joe” Stewart, of East Liverpool, passed away following complications of pneumonia on Monday, November 6, 2017. He was 39.

Born in West Virginia, December 20, 1977, he was a son of Charles B. McGraw of East Liverpool and the late Patricia D. Stewart.

For nearly 15 years, he worked at Reichard Industries in Columbiana as a welder and fitter and was a member of the Northside Community Church.

A graduate of the Class of 1998 from Wellsville High School, he was a standout member of the wrestling team. Joe was a lifelong, dedicated Cleveland Browns fan and also cheered for the Indians and Cavaliers. He enjoyed riding 4-wheelers and eating L&B Donuts on Saturday morning.

Above all things in life, Joe was a family man first. His memory will be fondly remembered by his wife, Abi Whitehead Stewart, at home. The couple married February 14, 2004. Also left to cherish his memory are his two children: Chloe Paige Stewart and Nathan Stewart.

Also surviving are his grandmother, Judy McGraw of East Liverpool and his aunt Dody Johnson of East Liverpool, along with a sister, Shalynn Cupp of West Virginia, two brothers, Justin Carter of East Liverpool, and Nick Stewart of Georgia.

Other survivors include his mother and father in-law, Bob and Judy Whitehead of East Liverpool, brother and sister in-law Zack and Whitney Whitehead of Troy, Ohio, uncle Jack Gallagher, uncle Donny Stewart and family, and aunt Becky Straight and family, all of East Liverpool. Many other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, niece and nephews survive.

He will also be sadly missed by his pet boxer Rudy.

Friends may visit Wednesday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 4 to 8 p.m. Pastor Larry Rose will conduct a funeral service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
