Obituary for Elizabeth "Liz" Adkins Papuzek

Elizabeth “Liz” Adkins Papuzek, 95

HAMLIN, WV – Elizabeth “Liz” Adkins Papuzek, formerly of East Liverpool, passed away Friday, December 8, 2017 at her home in Hamlin, West Virginia. She was 95.

Born in Lincoln County, West Virginia, October 5, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Squire and Catherine Plumley Adkins. She was a member of the 1st Assembly of God Church in East Liverpool at one time where she was active in the Dorcas Sewing Circle. She worked at the former Crucible Steel Company and Homer Laughlin China Company. She also was a Cub Scout leader at one time.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward G. Papuzek, as well as four sisters: Maudie Adkins, Daisy Snodgrass, Reathel Adkins and Virginia Adkins; and four brothers: Alpha, Emery, Millard and Albert Adkins. Liz was also preceded in death by her loving caregivers Goldie and Scott Adkins of Hamlin.

She is survived by two sons: Dallis Honaker of Dallas, Texas, and George Papuzek of Hamlin. There is one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves a brother, Bernard Adkins of East Liverpool.

Rev. Norman Eckert will conduct a funeral service Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home. Friends may visit 2 hours prior to the service.

Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
