Obituary for Arthur Webster Kelly

ARTHUR WEBSTER KELLY, 71

EAST LIVERPOOL – Arthur Webster Kelly, 71, died at the Calcutta Health Care Center at 2:37 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018 following a lengthy illness.

Born in Charleston, West Virginia on February 26, 1946, he was a son of the late Ralph and Katherine (Eaton) Kelly.

A 1964 graduate of South Charleston High School, Art received a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University. During his career with the United States Air Force, Art received a Master’s Degree in Facility Management and retired after 20 years with the rank of Captain.

Raised in the Presbyterian Church, Art had a love of card and strategies games. There was nothing he enjoyed more than defeating his opponents in Euchre or Axis and Allies. Art was also an avid fan of science fiction and fantasy books and movies, with his favorite being the Harry Potter series.

He is survived by two sisters: Marcia Feth, of East Liverpool; and Becky Sampson and her husband Tom of Columbus, Ohio. His brother, Stephen Kelly and his wife Shannon of Conroe, Texas, survive as well. Art will also be missed by: his nieces, Mildred, Stephanie, and Kim; and nephews, Jason and his wife Lucky, and Mackenzie; and his friend Jen Savin.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at Calcutta Health Care Center for their kind and compassionate care of Art.

Friends may visit at the Dawson Funeral Home on Friday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m.

Rev. Eric Edwards will preside at a service to be held at the funeral home at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct full military honors. The family and friends will then gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
