Obituary for Michael "Mike" McNicol

Mike McNicol, 75

ROGERS - Harold Michael “Mike” McNicol, of Rogers, passed away Friday, May 11th, 2018 at his home in Rogers. He was 75.

Born in East Liverpool, December 13, 1942, he was a son of the late Harold and Artie Leigh McNicol. A member of Holy Trinity Parish at St. Aloysius Church, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1961. For 31 years Mike worked for General Motors at the Lordstown Plant until retiring in 2001. Mike enjoyed many things including working outside, woodworking, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, but above all things in life he loved his family the most.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Kathy McNicol, whom he married May 18, 1968. There are four children: three daughters Amy Cassady and her husband, Jake, of Wooster, Tina Preston and her husband, Matt, of Lisbon, and Gretchen Lewis and her husband, Michael, of Lewis Center, Ohio, and a son, Michael McNicol and his wife, Kim, of Newark, Ohio. He loved and enjoyed his nine grandchildren: Jeremy, Brooke, Sean, Tyler, Sara, Ryan, James, Cash and Gunnar.

Also surviving are a sister, Bonnie LaScola and her husband, Phil, of East Liverpool, along with three brothers: Ralph McNicol of Lisbon; Patrick McNicol of Columbiana; and Richard McNicol and his wife, Inabel of Hubbard; and a sister-in-law, Pat McNicol of Pickerington. Many nieces and nephews survive as well.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Grace McNicol, and three brothers, James McNicol, Robert McNicol and Joseph McNicol.

Friends may visit Monday evening at the Dawson Family Center where the family will be present from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home.

Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
