The Dawson Funeral Home was established in 1935, by the late Frank A. Dawson, upon the death of his predecessor, E.G. Sturgis. Mr. Dawson, who died in 1988, was a native of East Liverpool who believed in the community. He was deeply involved in supporting education, the service clubs, churches and various charities.

A Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International, he constantly followed the creed of the organization: “Service above self.” His beliefs were passed on to his son, Frank C. Dawson, senior director of the funeral home and to his grandchildren, Frank Dike Dawson, company president, and Belinda Dawson Dunlap, along with her husband, Jim Dunlap. These family members, along with the entire Dawson staff, are committed to the high standards established by their founder.
Today, the third generation of the Dawson family, along with the staff, represents the very finest combination of service, facilities and value in the East Liverpool Area and beyond. Holding membership in virtually every professional funeral association, the Dawson Funeral Home is continually recognized among its peers for its on-going commitment to excellence and is often recognized for its innovative and progressive practices.
