Obituary for Amy Brown

Wellsville, Ohio- Amy Michelle Brown, 59, of 16 School Road passed away Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at 3:10 a.m. at her residence after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born July 27, 1962 in East Liverpool, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Bertha “Bert” Grindle Crews and of James Crews of Wellsville, Ohio. A lifetime area resident, she worked with her family’s business Crews Home Improvements for over 25 years. At one time she also worked for Citizens Bank and Dailey’s Refuge. She was a member of the Highlandtown Methodist Church.

She is survived by the love of her life, her husband, James K. Brown, whom she married October 16, 1982. There are two sons, Michael Brown and his wife, Sarah of Boardman, Ohio and Scott Brown and his wife, Marissa of Wellsville, Ohio; and one granddaughter, Elena Kurtz-Cogar.

In addition, she also leaves behind one sister, Brenda Kish and her husband, Paul of Salem, Ohio; and three brothers, James Crews of Wellsville, Ohio, Chuck Crews and his wife, Karen of Wellsville, Ohio and Mike Crews and his wife, Shawna of Wellsville, Ohio; and her mother-in-law, Judy Brown of Hammondsville, Ohio. Also special to Amy were many nieces, nephews, cousins (The GG’s) and friends.

Besides her mother, she was also preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Kathie Crews and her father-in-law, James K. Brown, Sr.

Amy was a dedicated mother and wife who deeply loved her family. She loved making chocolates at Christmas, crafting, and vacationing at the beach with her family. She was a community servant who was always eager to help her Southern Local School community, contributing many hours to Hall of Fame dinners and receptions. Amy warmly befriended everyone she met and never knew a stranger. She was a faithful cheerleader, encourager and listening ear to her family and friends. She was a blessing to her family and to so many others whose lives were touched by her spirit of genuine caring. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A private family service will be held at the Dawson Funeral Home in East Liverpool, Ohio with Pastor Linda Baker of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
