EAST LIVERPOOL – Anne E. McGee, of East Liverpool, passed away Tuesday morning, March 8, 2022, at East Liverpool City Hospital. She was 79.

Born in Tampa FL, December 6, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Clifford and Becky (Thrasher) Foxworth.

An East Liverpool resident since 1977, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church for over 40 years, where she attended the Wesleyan Crusaders Sunday School Class, was an officer in the United Methodist Women, taught Children’s Sunday School and was a member of the Esther Bible Club, Quilters Group, the ELGAB (East Liverpool Gals Abord the Bus) Group and helped with the Good Samaritan Sale.

Anne will be remembered most as a school teacher. She earned her teaching degree from the University of South Florida (she was in the university’s inaugural graduating class). After this she taught at several schools in the Tampa area until she became a mother. Upon arriving in the East Liverpool area, she began teaching at East Liverpool Christian School. She taught there for nearly 40 years, with a stint as the School’s Administrator, until her retirement in 2006. Generations of children were students of Mrs. McGee. She was known for her kind, patient demeanor and her students loved her.

Anne liked to garden. She was a member of the local Garden Club and attended garden shows and swaps. She loved to drive the Dogwood Trails of East Tennessee in the springtime to look at the flowers and landscapes with her son Steve and his wife Lark. She enjoyed attending the plays and performances of her son Russ Derrick, who preceded her in death. Mostly she enjoyed being with family and friends and with her grandchildren in particular.

She is survived by her husband, S. Larry McGee, Sr., at home. The couple married on September 16th, 1967 in Tampa, Fl. She also leaves a son, Steve McGee and his wife, Lark, of Maryville, Tennessee, as well as four grandchildren: Brendan, Wyatt, Rainy and Evan McGee.
She is also survived by her brother, Edwin Foxworth of Brandon, Fl and his wife Pamela.

She was preceded in death by her son Russ Derrick McGee of Covington, KY and her sister, Susan Foxworth Davis, of Orange City, FL
