Obituary for Arlene F Hobbs (Martin)

ARLENE F. HOBBS, 70

SALEM – Arlene F. Hobbs, 70, passed away Wednesday morning, August 16, 2017 at the Blossom Nursing Center in Salem at 10:10 a.m. following a lengthy illness.

Born in East Liverpool on October 28, 1946, Arlene was a daughter of the late Harold “Hap” and Frances Quinn Martin.

She was a 1964 graduate of East Liverpool High School, and had worked at Hall China, American Standard in Salem, had owned and operated the Hoops Lounge in East Liverpool. She most recently was employed at the Homer Laughlin China Co.

Arlene enjoyed her time with friends and family, especially her two grandchildren whom she loved to cook for. Arlene’s love of cats lead to many rescue opportunities and she became known as a compassionate person who would save any cat she could.

Her husband Bryan Hobbs, whom she married in 1995, survives at home. Arlene’s husband Raymond Willison preceded her in death in 1993.

Arlene is also survived by her daughter Kelly Taylor, and her husband Scott, of Poland, two grandchildren, Corey Taylor of Dallas, TX, and Alicia Taylor of Charleston, SC, and her sister Darlene Watkin and her husband David of Sebring, FL.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jeffrey “Rat” Martin in 2014.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Arlene’s nephew Matthew Watkin will officiate at a memorial service to be held at the funeral home on Saturday August 26th at 4 p.m. Burial will take place at Columbiana County Memorial Park Cemetery.
