Obituary for Barbara Ann Foster
Barbara Ann Foster, 83
CALCUTTA- Barbara Ann Foster, of State Route 7, Lisbon, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at the Calcutta Health Care Center. She was 83.
Born in Chester, April 29, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Goldie Swisher Pelley. A resident of this area all her life, she worked at the former Woolworths store in East Liverpool at one time.
A longtime member of the Calcutta Church of the Nazarene, she was active in its Sunday school and the Hilltoppers Seniors. Along with her late husband, she also would visit church shut-ins for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Keith Foster, Sr. on November 15, 2018. The couple married May 14, 1955. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Dean Foster, Jr., two sisters Garnett Stillwell and Grace Ann Grimm and two brothers Paul Pelley and Charles Edward Pelley.
There are two daughters, Tammy Reiss and her husband, Gary, of Pataskala, Ohio, and Delda Lauffenburger and her husband, Kelly, of Olathe, Kansas, and three sons, Donald K. Foster, Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Lisbon, Dean Foster, Sr. of Salem, and Ron Foster and his wife, Connie, of Lisbon.
Barbara loved her family above all things in life and will be sadly missed by her ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren along with her many nieces and nephews.
A brother survives as well, Donald Pelley and his wife, Kay, of Florida.
Friends may visit Thursday evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Pastor Gary Reiss, son-in-law, will conduct a funeral service Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.
Following the service, friends and family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for fellowship.
