BARBARA J. GAYTON, 65

EAST LIVERPOOL – Barbara J. Gayton passed away at the age of 65 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016, at her home on Smithfield Street in East Liverpool.

A daughter of the late Sidney Seawright, Sr. and Norma Clemons Seawright, she was born on July 2, 1950 in Olean, New York. A 1969 graduate of Portville (NY) High School, she had come to this area about ten years ago.

Barbara was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who took great pride in caring for her home and her family. She loved knitting, cooking, baking, and watching old classic movies – especially Shirley Temple.

Her husband, Eugene E. Gayton, Sr. survives her at home. They were married on December 14, 1974.

Barbara also leaves behind a daughter, Jaquilla Price and her husband, Kevin Sr., of Pittsburgh, as well as two sons, Leighton Seawright, and his wife Laura, of Beaver, PA and Gene Gayton, Jr. and his fiancée, Monique Hitchcock, of Bellevue, PA. There are eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Additional survivors include her sisters and brothers: Joyce Hatchett and her husband, Floyd, of Greensboro, NC; Carolyn Brazos and her husband, Cecil, of Ohioville, PA; Sidney Seawright, Jr. of Portville, NY; Melvin Seawright, also of Portville, NY; Raymond Seawright and his wife, Jeanette, also of Portville, NY; and Charles Seawright of Greensboro, NC. Another sister, Mary Ann Herring, preceded her in death.

Services will take place at the Dawson Funeral Home at 4:00 p.m. Thursday with Pastor Tom Rojahn, of the Bible Chapel of Robinson Twp, PA. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home two hours prior to the service. Barbara will be laid to rest at Calcutta Cemetery.
