BARBARA ELAINE REYNOLDS, 73

EAST LIVERPOOL – Barbara Elaine Reynolds passed away in her daughters arms at 4:24 p.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her home on Ohio Avenue in East Liverpool after a lengthy illness, and is now “together again” with her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Reynolds, who preceded her in death on September 11, 1996. She was 73.

A daughter of the late James and Dorothy Fetty Perkins, she was born in East Liverpool on July 18, 1942, and attended East Liverpool High School.

Barbara and Jerry were married on June 29, 1962, and raised their daughter here. A dedicated homemaker, she had also been an election poll worker. Barbara had worked at Riverview Florists at one time, and had also been a baker at Adrians Restaurant, retiring after ten years.

In her younger years of life she enjoyed camping, boating, fishing and swimming with her family. Barbara was a wonderful mother and loving wife, she loved planting flowers, gardening, cleaning her house and was a wonderful cook who loved to bake. She was an avid animal lover and loved to feed all the neighborhood cats and dogs and also gave a loving home to many stray cats. She also enjoyed watching TV, especially General Hospital, cooking shows and the current political commentary.

She would give a helping hand to anyone that needed it and was a strong, witty and fun loving person. Barbara will be deeply missed by her daughter, son-in-law, her cats and all of her family.

Her daughter, Vicki Comfort and her husband, Joseph “Joe”, survive in East Liverpool. Barbara also leaves behind her three beloved cats: Gizmo, Dusty and Ragamuffin, along with several “grandkittens”.

Two sisters and two brothers survive: Carol Jean McCune of East Liverpool; Jackie Hardy of Columbus; James “Sonny” Perkins and his wife, Sondra, of Youngstown; and Richard “Dick” Perkins and his wife, Sandra, of East Liverpool, along with three brothers-in-law: Kenny Reynolds and his wife, Judy, of East Liverpool; Robert Reynolds and his companion, Millie, of Florida; and Richard Reynolds and his companion, Jan, of Ohio. There are also numerous nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

Barbara is preceded by a sister, Judith “Judy” Perkins, inlaws, Jesse and Mary Reynolds, brothers-in-law, Donald “Dink” McCune, Frank Hardy, Bernard Beaver; sisters-in-law, Ida Reynolds and Carol Reynolds. As well as 2 nephews, James “Jim” Hardy and Richard “Rick” Perkins, 3 greatnephews, Shaun Schilly, Josh McCune and Jesse Backus.

Friends may visit with the family at the Dawson Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., as well as one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Services will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Rick Dawson.

Barbara will be buried alongside her husband at Mill Creek Cemetery. Following the burial family and friends will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
