Obituary for Lambert Plemons

Basil Lambert Plemons, 89

EAST LIVERPOOL – Basil Lambert Plemons, of Glenmoor, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at his home. He was 89.

Born in Toronto, Ohio, March 23, 1932, he was a son of the late William Basil Plemons and Evalena Koerber Plemons. A resident of this area all his life, he was a member of the East Liverpool High School Class of 1950. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he returned home and graduated from the Ohio Valley Business College. Lambert worked in the payroll department at Crucible Steel until 1982 and later worked as a clerk and ticket manager at East Liverpool High School. He was a member of the First Church of Christ (Disciples) where he was a deacon. For many years, he served on the board of the Tri-State Federal Credit Union, which later became Clearview Federal Credit Union, where he served as secretary for over 30 years.

Lambert was a member for over 50 years of the Wellsville Lodge #180 Free and Accepted Masons, as well as a member of the East Liverpool Chapter #100, Royal Arch Masons; Keramos Council #95, Royal and Select Masons; the Pilgrim Commandery #55, Knights Templar; a life member of the Al Koran Shrine; a 32nd degree member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Steubenville and Crystal Chapter OES.

He is survived by his wife, Deanna R. Shaneyfelt Plemons, at home. The couple married July 13, 1958. A daughter survives, Michelle Plemons Camp, as well as two grandchildren: Jacob Angus and Addison Camp, and one great-granddaughter, Aubree Angus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Gilbert, a half-brother, Leon Plemons, and a nephew, James Gilbert.

Rev. Chuck Adkins will conduct a funeral service Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home where the Tri-State Veterans Burial Group will conduct military honors. Friends may visit from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

Burial will be at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
