Obituary for Beatrice A. Sgro (Logston)

BEAVER, PENNSYLVANIA – Former area resident Beatrice A. Sgro, mother, grandmother and sister entered her eternal resting place on Friday, November 29, 2019 at her home.

She was born at home in Chester on April 13, 1930, a daughter of the late Dana and Delee Arnott Logston.

Following her marriage on March 16, 1948 to Ralph Sgro, she became a loving and devoted homemaker to her family. Ralph preceded her in death on October 30, 2007.

Bea was a devout Christian and the cornerstone of her life was her faith in God. She began each day by reading the Bible, and she prayed fervently putting God first above all things. She was a longtime member of Boyce United Methodist Church.

Bea was the best mother in the world. She was known to be a good listener and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. Bea was an avid and dedicated fan of the Cleveland Browns.

She leaves behind her three daughters: Sheryl Strosnider of Hopewell, VA; Phyllis Schreiner and her husband, William, of New Brighton, PA; and Christine Gascon and her husband, Manolito, of Harleysville, PA. There are five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Bea is also survived by her sisters, Martha DeCapio and Mary Frances Lee.

In addition to her parents, Bea was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Mehaffey, and brothers William, Robert, Kenneth, Hugh, LeRoy, and Delmar Logston.

Friends may visit Sunday afternoon and evening at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Former Boyce United Methodist Church Pastor Richard Hasley will conduct a funeral service Monday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Bea will be laid to rest beside her beloved Ralph at Riverview Cemetery.

Family and friends will then return to the Dawson Family Center for a
continued time of fellowship.
